Quetta, Pakistan (Nek Amal Utmani) – Chief Minister Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri has blamed the Indian spy agency RAW for Quetta bombing on Monday, that killed at least 70 people with death toll likely to rise, and injuring dozens.
As per local media reports, the CM claimed that Indian intelligence agency RAW was involved in subversive and terrorist activities in Balochistan.
“A war has been waged against terrorists in the province,” he said. “Militants have now started targeting those who are easy objects,” he added. Announcing three-day mourning period in the province, the Balochistan CM said that the terrorists would be taken to task.
Earlier, a powerful blast struck the restive capital of Balochistan’s civil hospital on Monday morning. The explosion occurred after Balochistan Bar Association’s President Bilal Kasi was gunned down at Mano Jan Road.
Lawyers and journalists had gathered at the emergency department of civil hospital where Bilal Kasi’s body was brought, when the explosion occurred. Most of the casualties and injured were lawyers, including media personals.
Aaj TV cameraman Shehzad, Dawn News cameraman Mehmood Khan and ex-BBA president Muhammad Kakar were among those killed in the incident, whereas, Dunya News reporter Faridullah was among the injured people.
Condemnations poured in from politicians and civil society alike, with PM Nawaz Sharif calling incident as a cowardly terrorist attack in Quetta and ordered the Balochistan government to bring the culprits to book at the earliest.
“No one will be allowed to disrupt the peace of the province,” the prime minister was quoted as saying in a statement issued by his office.
