South Korean model and television personality Kim Jong Suk has died at the age of 29, his family confirmed on June 6. The news has shocked fans and colleagues across the country’s entertainment industry, where Kim rose to prominence following his appearance on tvN’s 2022 reality dating show Skip Dating.

Kim, who began his career in modeling before transitioning to television, had been steadily gaining popularity in recent years. His sudden death has prompted an outpouring of grief and speculation online.

While the exact cause of death remains unconfirmed, some media reports have linked Kim’s passing to an incident in Hanam involving a violent altercation between a young man and his girlfriend. According to the reports, law enforcement responded to the scene, after which the man allegedly died by suicide after jumping from a high-rise building.

Amid widespread online discussion and conjecture, Kim’s family issued a public plea for restraint, asking the public and media to refrain from spreading misinformation or making disrespectful assumptions.

Kim’s older sister posted on social media, expressing the family’s devastation and emotional exhaustion. “We ask for privacy and understanding during this difficult time,” she wrote, emphasizing the family’s wish to grieve in peace.

Details regarding funeral arrangements have not been made public.
